I am excited that Jess will be returning to the North East next week!
I have long been inspired by Jess Templeton, from the moment we met I knew she had star quality written all over her and watching her growth and development has been fascinating.
Her videos on her Instagram page are on a completely different level and to think she has made it clear she would love to shoot with me whilst she is away on her weeks holiday, so already the wheels of creativity are flying around thinking about what, when and why!
I always love to plan my sessions and have a solid base, an idea about the photo shoot. I like to have something visual in my head and then I try my best to lay it out as I think it should be to bring that vision to life
Looking back at the sessions we have done over the years; I have loved them all. Jess is such a versatile dancer and person to photograph. The time we shot a set in the enchanted forest was mind blowing as she brought the set to a new level as just looked so elegantly beautiful. Jess makes it apparent that she does her homework and knows exactly what she wants from the set.
Our location sets have been special too, from jumping through corn fields to leaping on top of the Castle Keep, the detail and her understanding has been so inspiring to me as she knows her angles, lines and execution of each image.
Really looking forward to catching up with her mam too as Jayne is so funny. I also love my time with her too. Jayne, as a former professional ice skater she has a great understanding of what we are trying to achieve in our sessions.
Feeling very excited about moving forward to a new set of photographs with Jess!
I am really excited by the prospect of businesses being able to open on the 15th June by the government guidelines! However, I will not be officially opening my studio until the 1st of July.
The reason behind this is that I want my customers to experience a little normality before they really consider capturing special moments and give you all a little breathing space too. Everything we do is about the experience and we certainly want this to remain this way and we will as always be putting the client first
So, with this in mind we have put everything into perspective by analysing things from a parental customers point of view.
The enchanted set is looking amazing with the newly decorated summer flowers of pinks and lilacs and we have included a new set of enchanted dresses. That have been hand made with a bespoken styling representing the NHS and they will be removed after each use to be steam cleaned to further reduce the risk of infection. After your session and allocated time, we have left time to provide us with the opportunity to clean the studio for the next client .
So yes, we are ready, but we want to make sure you are excited to visit us, so the month of June is all about getting booked in for your favourite session! We will be starting off mainly with fairies and superhero sessions and once the lock-down hair styles have been tidied up, we will be expecting a huge volume of family sessions with three generations, I have said this so many times in the past about how important it is to include grandparents in family photographs, and I am sure this period of separation has highlighted that!
Our other specialist sessions that involve make overs will also be available for you to book and I have spoken Alexandra and she will wear a face mask, as her job involves closer contact, as she is the person responsible for her specialist makeup and hair for our Boudoir, 1950’s Pin Up, Mother and Daughter and Teen makeovers!
The studio provides more than enough space for us to keep safe distances and we really do want you to feel relaxed and thoroughly enjoy your time with us in the studio.
During lock-down I have really had time to reflect upon why I love being a photographer and also how much of a thrill it is to watch how emotionally connected people get with their images, especially our enchanted sets and I am so much looking forward to meeting you all and it also thrills me that some of my existing clients have re booked for new sessions!
The countdown is on, the Summer of Love at Joe Laws Photography is coming, ready and waiting for our official reopening date, 1st July
It finally looks like things are improving in the world. I have certainly been keeping myself busy planning ahead and keeping my focus on creativity, positive vibes and most importantly getting back to what we do best.
We have decided to start our bright future by celebrating the love for our children and creating some beautiful enchanted images in the stunning summer collection, it looks so magical. To add to this, we have been working hard on creating new dresses symbolising the soft beautiful colours of the rainbow to remind us of this period of our lives, where we all needed hope and all came together as one to support our NHS.
I honestly can’t wait to get back into the beautiful setting and capture stunning images for you!
Superheroes too, they will be swinging their way through the rubble as again! For me, this time has been a firm reminder about how amazing and resilient our children are! So lets smash that and symbolise their strength! Remember, the superhero set isn’t just for the children, there is nothing more special than to include mams and dads too, we’re all superheroes! The superhero set is incredible and it’s waiting for you!
Families and portraiture! Well we all know the importance of family, now more than ever and we expect a flood of requests for these special photo shoots and to create special memories during July and August.
The studio is geared up and ready for reopening, plans made for effective social distancing and all hygiene measures are in place so there are no worries at all for you. We only want you to feel positive and excited about getting something that is more important than anything else, the experience and creating memories to share and cherish.
Some serious thoughts and considerations have been put in place about the reopening date and i was thrilled to see a comment from someone saying how refreshing it was to see a business putting its clients first! This is the way that I have always done things and that won’t change.
But a change is going to come!
But its a change for the better, only in the way we operate our business at Joe Laws Photography, as we aim to get even better and want to be offering our clients clearer and easier ways to getting those beautiful images for their walls at home
I know that people will now realise how important a family portrait image is for them to display on their walls at home and how important three generational images are to us with our parents and grandparents; creative images of our children and our pets, it really has driven us to fully understand the importance as I believe, and I always have, that without our photographs we have nothing!
In order for us to support our clients more we are offering 0% finance to buy their photographs in prints, frames and digital files, so for example if something was £600.00 you could take this away for £100.00 each month with 6 payments.
We really want people to get what they want with the best possible method available to them as we all have uncertainties regarding what we can afford after this, pandemic but we really want to help you achieve your goals!
The Summer of Love carries such a powerful message of hope! It really is a reality check and an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the very thing we love more than anything else! Our children, our brothers and sisters, our parents and grandparents. Even our pets are priceless to us.
Let’s celebrate in every way we can. In the studio, capturing special moments of the beauty in our children in the magical enchanted forest. It is truly is the most special way to capture our children like nothing else can compare.
Let us make you feel like the very best version of yourself with a makeover for you and your mother or for you and your daughter. Even better still, encompass the 3 generations.of females in your family in one photo shoot.
It is all possible here at the studio, the empowerment of women is something that makes us feel fantastic, so think about how exciting this could be for you!. Think about my boudoir shoots and vintage rock and roll glamour sessions. They are so personal and designed to make the very best version of you!
The Summer Of Love also carries a vision that you can plant inside yourself. You can visualise it, how the end result will look and how it will give you something very positive to look forward to. As soon as the UK Government give us the green light we will be there like a (camera) flash!
In these uncertain times we are all feeling the strain of being apart from our families and loved ones, Try not to dwell on the negatives of the situation, give yourself something amazing to look forward to, let your natural instinct push you forward and Make a Booking with us now !
Your sitting fee is £25.00 as always but the interesting part here is that I will donate £5.00 for every booking we take between now and the end of May 2020. That’s a 20% donation for every booking taken, just to Show how much we appreciate our NHS. I personally promise that donations will be given directly to Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Trust hospitals so it stays in our region.
What an extraordinary week I’ve had this week at Joe Laws Photography! Such a diverse range of images and photo shoots have been created.
We Photographed a Peaky Blinders themed wedding, there was a lovely family photo shoot, we have had five different pet photo shoots, a beautiful Set of twin babies and then to top all that off, the lovely Keira Birkett came in and modelled for my Camera Club Lighting Tutorial.
Rebecca Rochester brought Daisy in for her 16th Birthday.
I was gifted a Pet Photo shoot for Christmas off a friend and the venue was Joe’s Studio.
Daisy received a pre-shoot email with more information about the day and studio, this was very welcoming and put a massive smile on my face.
This was my first time doing anything like this with my cat but Joe was really reassuring pre, post and during shoot doing what he could to make myself and Daisy feel comfortable.
I selected my favourite photos before leaving and can’t wait to pick up my prints.
A very talented man!
Amy Patterson brought Lexi into the Enchanted Winter Set this week, huskies look so good in the enchanted set and Lexi was extra special due to her brown eyes and unique colouring.
Faye brought in the lovely Benito! Benito was rescued from Cyprus! He’s a stunning little dog who was certainly at home. Its wonderful to see that people are prepared to give these dogs a new life and so I take my hat off to Faye!
Then in Came Roobarb and Custard strutting their stuff and they were so cute together.
Children, Twins and the last of the Winter Enchanted Set for this year!
Its always a pleasure having children in the studio and Sarah Dixon’s children looked adorable together and so did the twins, It really is so heartwarming being able to give parents beautiful images of their children as our kids are everything to us. It is always my goal to create something special for them.
This last week also brought the last of this year’s Winter Enchanted Fairies and Shelly Scott brought her girls in and I will be writing a blog about her session this week.
Special Thanks also to Helen Dewar Walsh for bringing her two girls in, these sessions really are so inspiring and such a specialist way of bringing the best out of children.
The curtain came down on the Winter enchanted fairies set with Jayne Chilton Having Three Beautifully Framed Images of her Grand Daughters.
